Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated LPN to provide nursing care to residents in our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled departments. Our residents are typically low-acuity, allowing our nurses to build meaningful relationships with them due to a favorable nurse-to-resident ratio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide RAs and Medical Unit Secretaries to ensure quality care.
- Verify resident identities for medication administration, prepare and administer medications, and document accordingly.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document any reasons for medication non-administration.
- Perform various nursing tasks, including:
- Wound care
- Administration of enemas and douches
- Application of hot and cold compresses
- Operation of EKG and suctioning equipment
- Collection of laboratory specimens
- Venipuncture
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing or authorized supervisor.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs without assistance.
- Capability to push residents weighing up to 200 lbs in a wheelchair.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Successful completion of the WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited LPN or RN program recognized by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Active nursing license in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
