About the Role

At Children's Mercy KC, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Milk and Formula Preparation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Milk and Formula Room, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient preparation and delivery of human milk and formula to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately receive, identify, store, verify, prepare, and deliver all human milk feedings as ordered by our healthcare providers.
  • Process, store, prepare, and deliver all formula feedings and other products as ordered by our healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a sanitary and well-supplied environment in the milk and formula preparation area, adhering to hospital and departmental procedures.
  • Supply mothers with necessary breast pumping supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other staff on proper preparation, storage, and transport of formula and other prepared products.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Training in infection control practices and mathematical competency required.
  • No experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
