The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Hite Fulfillment Center (HFC) is the core of our order fulfillment function. As we continue to grow and invest in our ability to deliver a world-class customer experience, our investment in distribution/warehouse function is growing as well.

  • HFC takes great pride in being a critical part of delivering an exceptional customer experience, and currently fulfills nearly 250,000 medical supply orders per month from its Asheville warehouse.
  • Aeroflow is in the early stages of a long-term project to modernize its distribution operations, steadily adding new technology, automation, and other process efficiencies over the next three years.
  • In addition, it is anticipated that HFC will be relocating into a larger warehouse facility in the Asheville area within the next 8-12 months.
  • Aeroflow's growth and investment in its distribution/fulfillment function will require a leader with advanced skills in three key areas...1) distribution/fulfillment operations, 2) complex project management, and 3) communication and culture-enhancing leadership through a sustained period of positive change for HFC.
Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Director of Distribution/Fulfillment, which will be responsible for:

  • Distribution Fundamentals
    • Responsible for ensuring all facilities are fully operational and meet the needs of the businesses.
    • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and shipping.
    • Ensures ongoing operational stability of the current workforce, processes and systems including compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain best practices in supply chain while continuously evaluating industry and segment leaders to identify emerging trends.
    • Continual improvement of the patient and employee experience through the supply chain, process improvements, training, and integration with 3rd party vendors to meet the needs of our brands.
    • Lead execution of supply chain strategies, including developing scalable processes that deliver the financial, cost, quality, safety, staffing, and service levels required to meet business objectives and customer expectations while ensuring financial strength and operating effectiveness.
    • Lead the design, implementation, and be accountable of key performance indicators, metrics, goal setting, scorecards, and communication processes that effectively translate strategy into action goals and performance objectives.
    • Responsible for P&L items related to distribution as well as the annual planning processes for the company in relation to P&L responsibilities, ensuring close partnership and collaboration with departmental plans, and long-term strategies of both the business and company.
    • Develop a strategy to support growth while ensuring assets and workforce capacity meet demand of the business units.
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Keeps up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
    • Track all related distribution/fulfillment costs in order to meet assigned budgets.
  • Modernization of Warehousing/Fulfillment Operations
    • An ability to develop objectives and strategies for the implementation of innovative solutions while optimizing existing processes, systems, applications, and technology.
    • Leading a team in identifying, comparing, selecting, and implementing solutions and partnerships to meet current and future needs related to all aspects of the supply chain and distribution operations.
    • Adept at leading through a sustained period of change.
  • People Leadership / Culture Enhancement

    • Manage multiple workstreams related to site renovations, physical moves, technology needs, etc.
    • Create long- and short-term project plans across multiple sub-teams, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
    • Predict/identify resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.

    Skills for Success

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Strong group/team leadership and decision-making/influencing abilities.
  • Must have strong verbal/written communication skills in an environment of multiple internal teams plus external vendors.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to set priorities and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with a mid/large company with a focus on supply chain management, operations, or distribution, with strong references.
  • Associate's degree or higher in logistics or supply chain management.
  • A proven leader with the ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within challenging timeframes and ongoing change.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and oversight of external suppliers and partners
  • Confident and effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated track-record of delivering innovative, high-quality operational and technology solutions on-time and on-budget.
  • Proficiency with warehouse technology, procedures, and policies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
  • Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to live/relocate near Asheville, NC.
