About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Energy Casualty Underwriter to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting complex new and renewal business with minimal oversight. Utilizing our comprehensive underwriting framework, you will ensure exceptional service delivery to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an advocate for our clients, focusing on enhancing their experience by thoroughly understanding their risks and providing tailored insurance solutions.
- Employ a systematic approach to risk evaluation, assessment, and pricing.
- Leverage data insights and models to inform decision-making during the sales process.
- Engage in market-facing activities within the Energy Casualty division.
- Administer and uphold underwriting standards, regulatory compliance, and rating guidelines.
- Handle complex assignments with broad authority and discretion.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting or market-facing roles.
- Alternatively, candidates may have 6 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
- For those with a Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice designation, an Associate Degree and relevant experience will also be considered.
Preferred Skills
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Technical expertise in Commercial Casualty Underwriting.
- Established relationships with brokers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- A mindset geared towards sales execution.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
