Position Overview

The Ophthalmologist plays a crucial role within the Ophthalmology department, providing specialized eye care expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team. The primary responsibility includes assessing patients for ocular conditions related to military service. The Ophthalmologist must accurately evaluate conditions and document findings through required forms.

Key Qualifications
  • Medical degree in Ophthalmology with a valid license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Completion of an internship and residency in ophthalmology.
  • Experience in treating adult patients.
  • In-depth knowledge of ocular diseases, anatomy, and functions of the eye.
  • Capability to provide follow-up care as necessary.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Resilience in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting project objectives.
  • Cultural sensitivity and willingness to engage with diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine eye examinations and assess visual conditions.
  • Provide ophthalmic consultations to fellow medical professionals.
  • Refer patients for specialized evaluations when necessary.
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and injuries.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Educate patients regarding their eye conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Report clinical findings to the Project Medical Director.
  • Support the professional development of clinical staff through mentoring.
  • Adhere to clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate continuity of care and professional referrals as needed.

Adhere to health and safety standards, including:
  • Prohibition of substance abuse.
  • Participation in fire response drills.
  • Maintaining personal and catering hygiene.
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures relevant to clinical care, including patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
