Overview:
The Compensation and Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in gathering, reconciling, and documenting all payroll information with minimal oversight.
Furthermore, this position is tasked with analyzing the outcomes to pinpoint trends, highlight areas for enhancement, and propose recommendations regarding payroll-related activities across all brands and subsidiaries within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage and upload automated payroll data on a weekly basis.
2. Collaborate closely with Payroll and IT teams to ensure that processed payrolls are accurately recorded and any discrepancies in payroll clearing are identified and resolved weekly.
3. Work in conjunction with HRIS to ensure that PTO expenses are accurately recorded and any significant roll forward discrepancies are identified and addressed; generate data analysis reports for brand review by Directors, noting any changes.
4. Partner with Benefits to ensure that benefit invoices are allocated correctly among brands, maintaining consistency with established methodologies.
5. Reconcile all payroll and benefit-related balance sheet accounts with multiple external systems and data sources, investigating discrepancies as necessary on a monthly and annual basis.
6. Provide payroll data analysis for brand review and collaborate with Directors and brand accountants on any additional reporting or variance resolution.
7. Validate and process payroll reclassification requests from Directors and brand accountants.
8. Identify opportunities for automation and spearhead process improvement initiatives.
9. Address various ad-hoc requests for data and reporting.
10. Cross-train and provide backup support for the Bonus Accountant.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrated proficiency in payroll accounting principles
Advanced skills in Excel
Solid understanding of GAAP
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Capacity to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Capability to recognize when priorities need to shift
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
1-3 years of relevant experience required, with at least 1 year in payroll accounting preferred
