Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County is seeking a qualified Sports Program Instructor to join our team. As a Sports Program Instructor, you will be responsible for leading sports programs for youth, promoting skill development, good sportsmanship, and a passion for sports participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sports programs for youth, promoting skill development and good sportsmanship.
  • Develop and implement engaging sports programs that meet the needs of participants.
  • Monitor participant activity to ensure all are participating and being treated fairly.
  • Interact with participants and parents in a positive manner that reflects a family-friendly environment.
  • Exercise sound judgment in relation to member safety and injuries.
  • Follow emergency procedures and report any incidents to the Regional Youth & Sports Director.
  • Visually inspect work areas and equipment for safety and risk, and report any problems to the supervisor.
  • Embrace and adhere to service excellence standards, providing outstanding service to customers and constituents.
Requirements
  • Minimum 17 years old, 18 years of age or older preferred.
  • High school education/GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience playing or coaching sports.
  • Ability to communicate with youth and adults.
  • First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date.
  • Completion of YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Online Training and Blood borne Pathogen Online Training.
