OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Our English educators collaborate closely with their colleagues to ensure that all students are not only able to read and analyze texts effectively but also meet the required academic standards by the end of the academic year. This essential work is supported by administrative coaching, ongoing feedback, teamwork, data-driven decision-making, and targeted interventions for students who may be struggling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans and units that cater to the diverse needs of all students, with clear objectives aligned to educational standards and appropriate assessments to evaluate student understanding.
- Engage in bi-weekly coaching sessions to refine content knowledge, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques to enhance professional growth.
- Contribute to a collaborative educational environment with fellow team members through grade-level planning, content-focused teams, and ongoing professional development throughout the academic year.
- Fulfill school-related duties, which may include student meetings, supervision during transitions, lunch monitoring, and other responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the English teaching position is passionate about nurturing young minds, enjoys working with students requiring additional support, is adaptable, open to feedback, and eager to develop professionally.
Experience:
- Preferred: At least two years of teaching experience, though not mandatory.
- Preferred: Experience working with diverse student populations or in urban educational settings.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Candidates must possess either (a) a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate endorsement for English instruction, or (b) a valid out-of-state license that can be transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or (c) be on track to complete the necessary certification steps in Tennessee.
