About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Space Systems Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will play a critical role in developing our Blue Moon lander product lines and contributing to our mission of having millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage requirements for crew-interfacing subassemblies and components, ensuring alignment with overall systems engineering process and technical budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand vehicle requirements and ensure strong, continued communications throughout the lifecycle of the mission.
  • Apply technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering, including CONOPs development, requirements analysis, and interface definition.
  • Support subassembly and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for spacecraft, launch vehicles, aircraft, or similar areas of expertise.
  • Experience with overall systems engineering process and technical budgets.
  • Experience with space systems (or equivalent design and requirements) and mechanical hardware design.
  • General knowledge of crewed space flight systems and human factors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with lunar environment, science, and exploration systems.
  • Experience with human-facing engineering, such as displays, controls, audio, cameras, payloads, or spacecraft cargo.
  • Experience with requirements development/management tools such as JAMA.
  • Experience with systems engineering modeling tools such as Cameo.
  • Human Spaceflight Experience with associated processes and standards.
What We Offer

At Blue Origin, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $110,055.00-$154,077.00 for CO applicants and $120,060.00-$168,084.00 for WA applicants. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
