The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated group of patients in an inpatient setting. This role requires a high level of competency in delivering care to primarily adult patients. The essential functions of the Staff RN-Inpatient position are derived from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition.
Candidates must possess professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, typically acquired through completion of an accredited nursing program, to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Non-BSN nurses with less than one year of licensed experience will be required to enroll in a BSN or higher nursing degree program upon hire. Acceptance into a program is expected within a specified timeframe, and the degree must be completed within a designated period. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
A current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required. Additionally, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an equivalent is mandatory within a specified period after hire.
