**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator II to join our team at Alternative HR LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality potable water for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment, including electronic laboratory equipment, titration equipment, and measuring devices.
- Perform water quality analysis throughout the production process and monitor treatment processes and pumping rates.
- Recognize and respond to changes in water quality and consumer demand, making adjustments to pumping rates and chemical dosages as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on treatment plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Repair and test water meters, maintain records of treatment plant functions and maintenance, and manage inventories of supplies and spare parts.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries about water quality and service in a knowledgeable and courteous manner.
Requirements:
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- High School Education with college courses desirable.
- Experience and/or education in the field of water treatment.
- Good math skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Class B Type 1, Waterworks Operators Certification or Department of Environmental Protection Wastewater Certification with intentions or testing date secured.
Physical Demands:
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (maximum weight 100 lbs, 20 times per day; average weight 50 lbs, 40 times per day), twisting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, writing.
- Sitting for approximately 10% of the time.
- Visual requirements compatible with inspection, close assembly, clerical, and administrative tasks, with the ability to differentiate colors.
Physical Surroundings:
- Inside and outside work environments.
- Extreme cold and heat.
- Noise, vibration, hazards (moving mechanical parts, electrical current, confined space, chemicals, fumes, dusts, mists, oils).
- Requires wearing safety equipment such as hard hat, respirator, safety goggles, and protective clothing.
