The Cement Terminal Supervisor role is pivotal in overseeing operations at our shipping and distribution terminal. This position serves as a crucial support to the Terminal Manager, ensuring efficient management of bulk cement operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 3-4 internal staff and external contractors to meet daily bulk cement shipping and unloading targets safely and efficiently.
- Assign and manage daily tasks related to bulk cement loading, unloading, and transfers, primarily within the bulk storage silos and dock areas.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repair activities for equipment in the bulk cement storage and unloading systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, supporting site security and serving as a back-up Facility Security Officer.
- Assist in planning and reporting for bulk cement import receipts and outbound shipments.
- Manage procurement and inventory of spare parts and materials necessary for bulk cement handling operations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent technical training, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations is highly desirable.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, SAP, and CDM.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is preferred, particularly in distribution or terminal operations.
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Background in safety support within an organization (OSHA or MSHA) is a plus.
- Technical knowledge or training related to the field is beneficial.
