Job Description

The IT Solution Architect is a technology and architecture leader with broad knowledge of systems, services, software architectural concepts, and system integration patterns.

This role will drive the conceptualization, design, and provide mentorship for the development and implementation of the technologies and solutions, partnering closely with partners to build and fulfill the product roadmap.

The Architect will own the design of applications and high data volume business platforms ensuring systems integrate efficiently and scale globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business partners in technical strategy-setting sessions.
  • Participate in the Architecture Review Board to define and drive adoption of architecture frameworks, patterns, and standards.
  • Actively lead the CTD technical vision, in alignment with the Group strategy.
  • Advocate of digital technology & solutions.
  • Drive definition and refresh of multi-year technology roadmaps.
  • Challenges self, team, and peers regarding currently held technical / operational views in-line with digital strategy.
  • Stays up-to-date on the latest business systems technology.
  • Help to build Service Level Agreements to set clear expectations with all parties.
  • Understand the strategic business direction to find opportunities for technology innovation.
  • Lead discussions to deliver architectural decisions and tradeoffs, with the perspective of internal and external customers.
  • Analyze and synthesize architecture diagrams to uncover potential operational gaps.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on enterprise-level solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge in building solutions using Cloud Architectures and Services (AWS and / or Azure preferred).
  • Ability to lead architectural discussions and influence decisions.
  • Strong experience in identifying architecture patterns for re-usability and compliance to standards.
  • Ability to navigate and understand a large IT department with a high number of technologies.
  • Building positive relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading a matrix team of specialists and communicating with different levels of management is highly desired.
  • Ability to partner with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience working in Validated / GxP environments (preferred).
  • 5+ years working experience working with business executives.
  • 5+ years working in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of information technology, engineering, computer science, and / or business administration (required).
  • Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA (preferred).
