Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Department Supervisor/Manager, the Surface Coating Specialist is tasked with applying protective and decorative finishes to various components. This role involves using materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, or stain, primarily utilizing a spray gun for application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and prepare appropriate coating materials.
  • Apply finishes to components according to specified work orders.
  • Access and coat hard-to-reach areas using manual sprayers.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with paint application equipment.
  • Operate drying ovens as necessary.
  • Conduct visual inspections of masking and finished products for quality assurance.
  • Complete required documentation accurately.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow established safety protocols diligently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Experience with gravity-fed spray guns and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace or automotive sectors is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members.

Compliance Requirement:

This position is subject to ITAR regulations, requiring the employee to be classified as a U.S. person (either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and chemical fumes in the workplace.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary.
