Key Responsibilities- Dispense and prepare oral medications as per physician orders, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide routine daily medications to patients with stable conditions, adhering to established protocols.
- Administer and document medications in the indicated dosage at the correct time, via the desired route, maintaining accurate records.
- Perform capillary blood glucose checks, vital sign monitoring, and document any changes or adverse effects.
- Turn oxygen on and off at pre-determined flow rates, ensuring patient safety.
- Report any changes in patient vital signs or behavior to the Charge Nurse, maintaining open communication.
- Count controlled substances, maintain medication cart cleanliness, and restock as needed.
- Ensure punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts, adhering to our company's attendance policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, maintaining flexibility and adaptability.
- Maintain resident/patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with our company's Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws, and professional standards.
- Graduate of a CMA program, with a strong foundation in medical and pharmacological terminology.
- Valid certification as a CMA in the state of employment, with a current CPR certification.
- At least six months of experience in a long-term care environment, with a proven track record of managing medications for a large number of patients.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $21.00, with opportunities for professional growth and development within our organization.
