Role Summary:

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the assembly and wiring of control panels and machinery. This role includes managing the electrical parts inventory, ensuring proper storage and distribution for projects, and performing maintenance on tools, equipment, and facilities as required. Familiarity with electrical components and inventory management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test industrial control panels based on schematic diagrams, load software, and conduct tests on PLCs and HMIs.
  • Proficient in 3-phase AC wiring up to 600V, single-phase AC wiring, low-voltage DC wiring, and network wiring.
  • Design and produce wiring harnesses for standard control panels.
  • Create unit-level wiring kits to enhance production efficiency.
  • Interpret and understand schematic wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Install wiring using both rigid and flexible conduit with precision and attention to detail.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and control panel malfunctions.
  • Maintain an organized electrical parts inventory and ensure cleanliness in storage areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering and management on project designs and wiring diagram updates.
  • May undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires an associate degree in electronics or electrical technology.

Experience:

  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in electronic/electrical circuitry and control panel assembly.
  • Preferred: 3 to 5 years of experience with electrical wiring systems and programming various controllers.

Equipment Proficiency:

  • Experience with computers, forklifts, scales, hand trucks, dollies, and other manufacturing equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoors in a manufacturing setting, which may be noisy. Outdoor work may be required in adverse weather conditions.
  • Safety footwear and eyewear are mandatory, along with other personal protective equipment as necessary.

Physical and Cognitive Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally exert over 100 lbs of force.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and pull wires as needed.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial for this role.
