Position Overview:
The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is looking for an EDI Tester to conduct Quality Assurance and Testing activities in support of the Managed Care Transition Project.

Key Responsibilities:
This role involves critical tasks related to a system being developed internally at the State, including:

  • Evaluating the testability of requirements and creating test cases derived from Business Requirements and Software Design Documents.
  • Executing functional, integration, and regression tests.
  • Demonstrating expertise in Testing EDI Applications.
  • Developing and executing test scripts for HIPAA X12 EDI Transactions, including 837I, 837P, and NCPDP D.0.
  • Creating SQL queries for data validation.
  • Scripting automated Test Suites.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and reporting test results.
  • Utilizing Test and Defect Management Tools, with a preference for HP ALM and JIRA.
  • Testing web applications effectively.
  • Conducting Healthcare Claims Processing Testing.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience collaborating with end users to ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology.

Experience Requirements:
Candidates should have:

  • 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in conducting QA and testing on EDI applications.
  • 5 years of experience in executing functional, integration, and regression tests.
  • 3 years of experience in Healthcare Claims Processing Testing.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with Test and Defect Management Tools, such as HP ALM and JIRA.
  • 3 years of experience in testing web applications.
  • 2 years of proven experience in developing SQL queries.
  • 1 year of experience in scripting automated Test Suites.
  • 2 years of experience working with Business Teams to create Business and QA Documents.
