Assistant Deli Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Assist the Deli Manager in leading a high-performing team that provides excellent customer service and maintains a clean and organized deli area.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory controls, product quality, and ordering to ensure maximum productivity and profit.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, taking special orders, and resolving customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operations: Assist in coordinating production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, and goal setting.
  • Training and Development: Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a deli or related food service environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take and give direction in a team environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry product weighing up to 70 lbs., stand for up to 4 hours continuously, and perform other physical demands of the job.
