Assistant Deli Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Assist the Deli Manager in leading a high-performing team, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive store environment.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory controls, product quality, and ordering processes to maximize productivity and profit.
  • Operations Coordination: Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, and goal setting.
  • Training and Development: Assist in hiring, teaching, and developing the Deli team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the deli equipment is in good working condition and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a deli or related food service environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take and give direction in a team environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, and financial goals.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 70 lbs., stand for up to 4 hours continuously, and perform other physical demands of the job.
