Position Overview
The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) is seeking a skilled attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation to contribute to our legal team.
This role offers a flexible work environment, with options for remote work available for certain candidates. However, some in-office presence may be required for others.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of civil procedure, evidentiary standards, and trial tactics, along with exceptional advocacy skills, both written and verbal. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage a time-sensitive caseload independently.
Key Qualifications:
We are looking for an Attorney who meets the following criteria:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution with outstanding academic performance
- Active California State Bar license and in good standing
- At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense
- Familiarity with a paperless working environment
- Proficient in utilizing technology for case management and courtroom presentations
- Strong skills in software applications, including Word, Outlook, and Westlaw
- Knowledge of local and state discovery protocols, trial processes, and relevant substantive law appropriate to experience level
- Experience in presenting and cross-examining both lay and expert witnesses
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Compensation: Competitive salary range with performance-based bonuses.
