Position Title: Construction CAD Designer/Drafter

Position Summary

The Construction CAD Designer/Drafter will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, Superintendents, and Clients as directed by the Design Department Director. This role is essential for planning, coordinating, and producing comprehensive construction drawings for designated projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage with the project team to thoroughly comprehend the design specifications of the project.
  2. Evaluate and identify potential project risks.
  3. Collect and compile necessary measurements, dimensions, and other relevant information to finalize the drawings.
  4. Offer practical design suggestions based on project needs, budget constraints, site conditions, and current trends.
  5. Utilize CAD and/or Revit software proficiently to create construction-grade drawing sets.
  6. Develop preliminary design drawings for bidding and work acquisition.
  7. Generate drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or completion of a certification program in architectural drafting or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • General understanding of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.
  • Ability to apply fundamental sketching and design principles.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, typically operating from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Additional overtime may be necessary to achieve project objectives or meet deadlines. Flexibility in working hours may be required based on business needs.
