Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our team at Akron Children's. As a key member of our pediatric ambulatory care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and leadership to our clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and guidance to clinical staff, under the direction of physicians.
- Support provider staff and promote efficient operation and quality care.
- Precept new employees and act as a mentor to the clinical staff.
- Participate in the development of education for all staff members on clinically related issues.
- Assess clinical competency and participate in the evaluation process of the clinical staff.
- Act as an advocate for health maintenance of children and promote a positive public image in all interactions.
- Provide consultations and requests consults as directed and in accordance with hospital bylaws.
- Assist with and facilitate discharge planning.
Requirements:
- BSN degree required; candidates hired without a BSN must obtain the degree within 5 years from date of hire.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association required.
- Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position with variable day shifts and rotating weekends. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
