Staff Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Perianesthesia team at Akron Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities:
* Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients served regardless of age and developmental status.
* Perform leadership and professional duties, including precepting new employees and acting as a mentor to clinical staff.
* Participate in the development and education of staff members for clinically related issues.
* Support the provider staff and actively promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care.
* Perform systems-based practice duties, including working with various levels within an organization.
* Other duties as required.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
* Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association required.
* Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required.
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience preferred.
