Role Responsibilities:

The Chief Engineer will lead the maintenance team, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include:

  • Upholding the hotel's mission and standards in all maintenance tasks.

  • Representing the engineering department in daily operational meetings.

  • Responding to guest maintenance requests with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintaining the hotel's physical condition, including all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Overseeing the installation and upkeep of HVAC, fire safety, and other essential systems.
  • Keeping detailed records of all equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Preparing reports for management as required.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and safety in all maintenance areas.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the property to uphold safety and operational standards.
  • Managing inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Training staff on maintenance procedures and assisting with repairs.
  • Monitoring the hotel's emergency systems.
  • Collaborating with management on maintenance status and reports.
  • Implementing energy conservation initiatives to reduce costs.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Ensuring adherence to uniform and grooming standards among staff.
  • Managing quality service and financial objectives while overseeing daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a hotel setting.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in English with strong communication abilities.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with effective organizational capabilities.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle feedback professionally.

Work Environment:

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy objects and perform various physical tasks. The Chief Engineer will work both indoors and outdoors, often in challenging conditions, while adhering to safety protocols.
