Overview:

This position is vital in enabling individuals to maintain their independence within their homes or care facilities while upholding strict confidentiality and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide and document medical care, including:
  • Basic first aid and monitoring vital signs
  • Assistance with catheter and bowel care, including intake and output tracking
  • Facilitate range of motion exercises as directed by therapy professionals
  • Support ambulation, transfer, and positioning using appropriate medical equipment
  • Prepare meals tailored to dietary needs
  • Attend to patients' unique conditions and requirements within authorized tasks
  • Assist with personal hygiene activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
Ensure thorough documentation and coordination of patient records after each visit.Observe and report any significant changes in the patient's condition to the supervising Registered Nurse.Deliver hands-on personal care and assist with simple procedures as part of therapy or nursing services.Execute services as prescribed by the physician in the care plan, adhering to state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current and valid certification or proof of training as mandated by state regulations
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Proven ability in clinical assessments and compliance with care policies
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

Ongoing Education:

Each aide is required to complete a minimum of 12 hours of in-service training annually, which may occur while providing patient care.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective time management
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations both physically and mentally

Work Environment:

Must be adaptable to various environments, which may include exposure to allergens and other conditions, as well as potential exposure to blood and infectious diseases.
