Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our Consumer Deposits team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance to our business partners, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing complex legal matters and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to business partners on strategic and complex issues related to consumer deposits.
  • Manage complex legal matters and projects, including providing oversight and strategic guidance on new or proposed legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the company before regulatory or judicial bodies, as necessary, or in dealings with counter-parties on matters such as litigation, commercial transactions, and regulatory examinations.
  • Provide legal and risk-mitigation advice on complex matters related to consumer deposits, including Regulations E, D, CC, DD, and applicable regulatory guidance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve Legal's Mission and/or Discover's business objectives.
  • Manage resources, including overhead, outside counsel, and other budgets to achieve Legal's financial goals.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • 6+ years of legal experience supporting consumer financial services products and services.
  • Active law license in good standing.
