Key Responsibilities:
The Undergraduate College at National Louis University is seeking a Mathematics Education Specialist to provide tutoring services in Mathematics.
This is a part-time role, requiring approximately 16-20 hours per week, primarily during daytime hours.

In this role, you will:

Support courses by delivering engaging tutoring and/or supplemental instruction in various classroom settings.
Empower students to enhance their skills by leveraging their unique strengths and backgrounds, while sharing enthusiasm for the subject matter.
Utilize technology-based platforms to assist students in developing competencies.
Communicate effectively, considering the impact of social, cultural, and power dynamics on interactions.
Maintain and enhance content expertise: Stay current in the subject area, reflected in tutoring and instructional practices.
Demonstrate appropriate qualifications and experience in subject-area tutoring.
Stay informed about developments in the field.
Promote student success through a proactive and supportive approach: Exhibit a commitment to postsecondary success for diverse learners, particularly in achieving equitable outcomes.
Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to provide personalized support to students.
Identify gaps in student needs and available resources, generating creative solutions that promote equity and inclusivity.
Engage in data-driven instruction and planning: Monitor student progress regularly to ensure success and equitable outcomes.
Participate in planning meetings with faculty to discuss student progress and strategize support interventions.

Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field is required.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with digital teaching tools, particularly learning management systems, is preferred.
Experience in online, synchronous-remote, or blended formats is preferred.
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities is preferred.
Experience with multilingual or multidialectal students is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
