About the Role

Clean Harbors is seeking a highly skilled Hub Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. This individual will be responsible for managing costs, quality, and time at all maintenance hubs and spoke sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Maximize the company's return on investment for all fleet assets by planning, managing, and directing all activities associated with maintenance.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Time Management: Manage and direct all maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and minimize downtime.
  • Safety Management: Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department, reviewing safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all human resources policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, including SOP's, AP's, Personnel Manual, OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Project Management: Execute projects assigned in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner.
  • Facility Management: Manage all aspects of the maintenance hub and spoke sites in accordance with the region's business plan and budget.
  • Standardization: Implement corporate and region policies, procedures, and standards to ensure standardization and brand image.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of equipment at all Hub and spoke maintenance sites by managing day-to-day activities.
  • Vehicle Evaluation: Evaluate vehicles and equipment with respect to replacement due to age, history of repair, and overall maintenance costs.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for maintenance facility operations improvements.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that all personnel is adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to accomplish the maintenance program in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Communication: Communicate regularly with all maintenance supervisors, planners, and parts personnel to ensure good two-way communication.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained in accordance with the Company's preventative maintenance program and the physical facility is properly maintained.
  • Recruitment and Development: Recruit, train, and develop qualified employees, communicating job expectations and fostering a collaborative climate.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a maintenance or operations role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and personnel development skills, ability to work across business lines in a matrixed organization, strong negotiation skills, knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and processes, ability to create actionable items out of data and information, strategic planning, and tactical execution.
  • Software: Proficient in MS Office Applications, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Access.
