About the Role

Clean Harbors is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maximizing operational profit through effective planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage work orders, parts availability inquiries, and schedules maintenance in accordance with manpower and shop space availability.
  • Work with internal and outsourced maintenance facilities to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Collaborate with regional hub managers, asset management, and internal maintenance teams to target completion of fleet overdue inspections, recalls, and campaigns.
  • Track and manage repair orders, quotes, inspection forms, purchase orders, and final invoices in the Clean Harbors Asset Management system.
  • Facilitate maintenance repair requests with management, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Participate in periodic planning meetings with the internal maintenance group and facilitate branch meetings.
  • Review repair quotations and identify areas for cost reduction or elimination.
  • Transport units in need of repair or maintenance and place completed units back into service.
  • Assist coworkers with asset management and repair order system issues, credit card payments, purchase orders, and invoice inquiries.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related field.
  • Driver's license required.
  • Passport and ability to cross international borders required.
  • Ability to travel 10-25%.
  • Strong leadership and personnel development skills.
  • Ability to work across business lines in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and processes.
  • Ability to create actionable items from data and information.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and MS Project.
  • Able to apply standards and processes that maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Financial understanding with the ability to set strategy against financial goals.
  • Understanding of metrics that drive fleet maintenance performance.
  • Demonstrated project and change leadership ability.
  • Ability to facilitate/train others and navigate difficult conversations.
