Position Overview:

In this role, you will operate with a significant degree of independence, leveraging your extensive expertise and experience to support the lifecycle of all approved alternative investment products within the Raymond James RCS division. This includes overseeing new product integration, ongoing investment management, and occasionally, the cessation of investment support. You will collaborate closely with the Alternative Investments Group ("AIG") Operations team, financial advisors, and senior leadership across various departments to enhance operational processes and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize your background in operations leadership from hedge funds, private equity, custodians, or administrators to manage the operational framework of alternative investment funds on a leading investment platform.

• Provide in-depth knowledge of alternative investments to ensure operational practices align with industry best standards.

• Direct AIG operations for RCS' alternative investment offerings, working collaboratively across departments to support all operational facets of the Alternative Investments platform.

• Address inquiries from stakeholders by leveraging your expertise in alternative investment products.

• Mentor team members engaged in operational support roles.

• Network with operational due diligence contacts to continuously assess and enhance the Raymond James platform against industry benchmarks.

• Evaluate existing operational frameworks at funds on the AIG platform, comparing them against industry standards and providing written recommendations for improvements.

• Utilize your knowledge of database design and data structures to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of technology and business processes.

• Reconcile client investments with fund sponsors, generate trade confirmations, update client statements, process commissions, manage redemptions, and maintain performance metrics.
  • Oversee suspense account and accrual reconciliations.

• Apply basic technological concepts to collaborate with IT professionals on process improvement and risk management projects.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel and Access.

• Strong understanding of industry practices, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.

• Principles and practices relevant to the functional area.

• Investment concepts and procedures within the securities industry.

• Basic banking and finance principles.

• Financial markets and products.

• General and Limited Partnership Accounting Principles.

• Regulatory standards set by FINRA and SEC.

• Operational standards at hedge funds or private equity firms.

• Accounting and reporting processes, including cash management and NAV analysis.

Skill in:

• Reviewing operational controls and processes.

• Interpreting policies and procedures effectively.

• Establishing operational goals and developing efficient workflows.

• Preparing management reports and evaluating vendor relationships.

• Promoting coordination across various workgroups.

• Identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.

• Establishing control mechanisms and driving process improvements.

• Utilizing standard office equipment and software applications.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minimum of five years of experience in an alternative fund or related financial institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

• SIE required unless exempt.

• Series 7 required, with Series 99 preferred or the ability to obtain within one year.

• CAIA designation preferred.
