Role Summary

The primary objective of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role is to deliver routine daily nursing assistance and care to each assigned Patient, adhering to their individualized care plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and document personal care for assigned Patients in alignment with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Encourage and facilitate maximum independence for Patients.
  • Communicate with the supervising charge nurse regarding Patients' conditions at the start and conclusion of each shift.
  • Document observations and share insights about Patients' health as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for Patients.
  • Adhere to safe lifting and transfer procedures as per established guidelines.
  • Ensure that all equipment, including mobile devices, is maintained in a clean and functional state, reporting any issues to a supervisor.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to sustain nursing assistant certification annually.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping or maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment for Patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and serve as a role model within the team.
  • Understand and enforce the policies for Abuse Prevention as outlined by Cantex Continuing Care Network.
  • Engage in weekly Patient Care Management Systems training and integrate this knowledge into Patient care delivery.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients/residents.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
