Job Title: LCSW Early Intervention Diagnostic Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled LCSW Early Intervention Diagnostic Specialist to join our team at Sarah. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing early intervention evaluation, assessment, and consultation services to infants, toddlers, and their families enrolled in our KIDSTEPS Birth to Three Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess children and families to develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) that meet the unique developmental needs of young children and their families.
  • Provide autism assessments, eligibility evaluations, and annual assessments in accordance with Birth to Three guidelines to all regions covered by our KIDSTEPS Early Intervention Program.
  • Complete and maintain records in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines, including timely completion of evaluation and assessment reports.
  • Support a transdisciplinary team through consultation and teaming conversations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with families, staff, and community representatives.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices providing Birth to Three early intervention services.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and regional meetings with early intervention professionals to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in promoting and supporting community awareness and relationships of Sarah and KIDSTEPS.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) according to CT Birth to Three Policies and Procedures (if applicable).

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut license per CT Birth to Three professional regulations.
  • Knowledge of early intervention best practices, childhood development, family systems, and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of evaluation, assessment, and diagnostic resources and best practices.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Skill in working with families and children with differing abilities.
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment, computer, and various software packages.
  • Ability to read and understand policies and regulations and to translate general guidelines into specific action.
  • Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal communication, cultural sensitivity, and interpersonal skills necessary to provide information to families and staff.
  • Ability to work successfully, both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and drive/travel to varying locations as needed.

Physical Effort:

The successful candidate must be able to sit, stand, and walk at an assigned location(s) and work for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, kneel, and balance frequently; climb, reach above shoulder level; push, pull, squat, and crouch occasionally; with assistance, lift, carry, and position individuals of various weight. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to drive for extended periods throughout the day.
