Certified Addiction Support Worker

The New Brunswick Counseling Center is seeking a highly skilled Certified Peer Worker to join our team. As a Certified Peer Worker, you will play a critical role in delivering high-intensity services, including providing evidence-based interventions, facilitating treatment referrals, and offering comprehensive case management.
About the Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will work closely with clients to promote recovery and well-being, while maintaining a caseload of clients and developing individualized recovery plans. You will also be responsible for acting as a liaison between clients and other professionals, ensuring integrated and client-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Services: Deliver peer recovery support services tailored to client needs, focusing on individuals with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized recovery plans and document progress, while maintaining a caseload of clients.
- Referral and Case Management: Facilitate treatment referrals and ensure timely follow-ups with service providers, and coordinate resources and services to meet client goals.
To be eligible for the role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Ethics Training: Completion of an 18-hour ethics course.
- National Certification: Must hold the Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) credential accredited by NAADAC, with proof of eligibility including GED or higher education transcript, self-attestation of minimum 2 years in recovery, direct practice experience, and signed adherence to the NAADAC/NCPRSS Code of Ethics.
- Training Hours Breakdown: Peer Recovery Education/Training: 48 hours, HIV/Other Pathogens Education: 6 hours, and Official transcripts provided by NJPN or other approved NAADAC providers.
We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
