Medical Scribe Assistant

At Rochester Regional Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Scribe Assistant, you will work closely with our Hospitalists to provide exceptional patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately document medical information into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring that all necessary information is captured and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document medical information into the EMR system, including patient history, physical examination information, and diagnostic and procedural activity.
- Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date, and that all necessary information is captured.
- Communicate effectively with the Hospitalist and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Manage medical and administrative information, including hard copy and electronic files and data, with attention to appropriate confidentiality of information access and retrieval.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; training in medical terminology, unit secretary, medical transcription, coding, or closely related field preferred.
- Two years of experience as a medical transcriptionist, medical assistant, unit secretary, coder, or related field required.
- Technical proficiency with computers and EMRs, including data entry, word processing, and data retrieval.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification from an accredited business school as a medical assistant or closely related field.
- IAAP certification as a Certified Administrative Professional.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Pay Range
$26.77
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
