Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Family Farm and Home. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the store in the absence of the store manager and exemplifying our company culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage store operations, including inventory management, expense control, and human resource management.
  • Assist the store manager in promoting an aggressive sales culture and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Lead and motivate a team of employees, including hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining as needed.
  • Maintain a highly motivated team by planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional and positive store environment.
  • Assist the store manager in the execution and performance of all store job responsibilities.
  • Provide feedback to the office and achieve financial objectives by assisting the store manager in the preparation of an annual budget.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with customers.
  • Establish relationships and support local community groups consistent with company values.
  • Manage and protect all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy.
  • Verify merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures.
  • Protect team members and customers while maintaining the stability and reputation of the store.
  • Assist the store manager in determining marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage with limited supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Aggressive customer service skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures, and climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
