About the Opportunity: Huston-Tillotson University is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Professional to join its Institutional Advancement team. As a Director of Major Gifts, you will play a vital role in securing funding for the university's strategic initiatives, building meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, and providing exceptional donor stewardship. With a strong focus on collaborative leadership and teamwork, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the university community.

Key Responsibilities: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects, working closely with University leaders, faculty, and staff to align fundraising priorities with the institution's strategic goals. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase financial support from alumni, corporate partners, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team to ensure seamless execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and programs. Provide regular progress reports on major gift and planned giving activities, including tracking of goals and outcomes. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including foundations, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations. Represent Huston-Tillotson University at community events, conferences, and other forums to elevate the university's visibility and fundraising prospects.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in major gifts, planned giving, or related fundraising roles, preferably in higher education or nonprofit sectors. Proven track record of successfully closing major gifts of $25,000 or more. Strong understanding of charitable giving laws, estate planning, and financial planning as it pertains to philanthropic giving. Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with donor management software, such as Raiser's Edge or similar platforms.
