Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Coach to join our team. As a Behavioral Coach, you will work closely with individuals with IDD and/or behavioral health diagnoses, providing coaching and training to support their behavioral goals. You will also work with families and caregivers to build capacity and promote positive behavioral supports.
Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face or virtual coaching and training to individuals with IDD and/or behavioral health diagnoses
- Assist with development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans (BSP)
- Work with families and caregivers to ensure all materials and supplies needed for implementation of behavior plans are available
- Present graphical summaries of effectiveness of BSP to families and caregivers at meetings
- Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained
- Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, as assigned by BCBA or Director
- Participate in provider wraparound or consultation meetings by reporting assessment results and offering rationale for best practice recommendations in areas of expertise
- Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required
- Complete all documentation as expected in a timely manner
- Fulfill all supervisory requirements in accordance with BACB standards
- Collaborate with and regularly update Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities
- Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department head
- Comply with all organization standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals
Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor degree in a human or social services related field is required
- Registered Behavior Technician in the State of California
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or BH diagnoses
- Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification
- Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
- Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must be computer literate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent bilingual speaker in one or more of the following languages: (English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog)
