Benchmark Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Coach to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As a Behavioral Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health (BH) diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide face-to-face or virtual coaching and training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans.
- Assist agency staff in developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), including coaching on data collection and fidelity checks.
- Work with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all materials and supplies needed for implementation of behavior plans are available.
- Present graphical summaries of BSP effectiveness to DSPs at meetings.
- Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained.
- Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, as assigned by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Director.
- Participate in provider wraparound or consultation meetings by reporting assessment results and offering rationale for best practice recommendations in areas of expertise.
- Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required.
- Complete all documentation as expected in a timely manner.
- Fulfill all supervisory requirements in accordance with BACB standards.
- Collaborate with and regularly update Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities.
- Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed.
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor or department head.
- Comply with all organization standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor's degree in a human or social services-related field is required.
- Registered Behavior Technician in the State of California.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or BH diagnoses.
- Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
- Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
- Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must be computer literate.
- Fluent bilingual speaker in one or more of the following languages: English/Spanish, English/Mandarin, English/Korean, English/Tagalog.
