Woodworking Specialist

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a skilled craftsman, performs manual work in the construction, alteration, and repair of wood structures, including trestles, scaffolding, towers, forms for concrete construction, and fences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lays out work and marks, saws, cuts, shapes, planes, miters, sands, scrapes, finishes, fits, and assembles woodwork in accordance with plans, sketches, or instructions.
• Conducts work in a safe manner and in accordance with established safety rules and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice training program in carpentry, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Working Conditions

May involve exposure to a variety of operating mechanical equipment and loud noise and/or noxious odors. May include working in all types of weather conditions throughout the plant facility and collection system.
