Job Summary

The Front of House Supervisor/Bar Supervisor is a key member of our team at The Waters Of Minocqua, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our restaurant and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Direct and manage the performance of department staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, payroll activities, and training/development.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that each guest receives excellent guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest and maintaining excellent standards.
  • Customer Escalations: Handle customer service escalations, including compliments and complaints.
  • Inventory Management: In conjunction with the Kitchen Manager, identify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements and ensure inventory needs are met.
  • Daily Goals and Assignments: Plan and assign daily goals, tasks, and assignments for front of house staff.
  • Communication: Communicate with the management team and FOH team members through written and oral communication in a timely and effective manner.
  • Sales Performance: Assist in monitoring sales performance through the analysis of sales reports and comparison-shopping.
  • Merchandising: Maintain all merchandising efforts, display presentations, and signing standards.
  • Conflict Resolution: Work under pressure while exercising good judgment and handle conflict and resolve uncomfortable situations with customers and team members.
  • Company Policies: Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as state health/sanitation standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education required.
  • Experience: At least two years progressive experience in front of house or similar restaurant operations.
  • Certifications: Wisconsin approved food manager certification, e.g., SERV Safe (may be attained within 30 days after hiring date).
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills, creative and effective problem-solving skills, ability to accept constructive feedback and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
  • Long Hours: Long hours frequently required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical Activity: Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift and frequent physical activity associated with serving, bartending, food preparation, and cooking.
  • Lifting: Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Walking: Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions.
