Position Overview:

Compensation: $28-30 /hr.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

This role offers a unique opportunity to advance your nursing career while working in a dynamic environment that presents diverse and fulfilling challenges. As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering nursing care, training, and support to individuals facing various health challenges, including brain injuries, developmental disabilities, and emotional or behavioral issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess the health status of individuals in our care, ensuring high-quality services are delivered.
  • Administer medications, maintain accurate documentation, and supervise staff in medication administration.
  • Implement prescribed medical treatments in accordance with physician directives and provide personal care services.
  • Conduct health assessments and develop healthcare services tailored to each Individual Service Plan (ISP), responding promptly to any changes in condition.
  • Provide training to staff on essential topics such as infection control, medication administration, and universal precautions.
  • Act as a liaison and advocate for individuals with other healthcare professionals and service providers.
  • Educate individuals on self-medication, prescribed treatments, and health education topics.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience with the population served.
  • Current state LPN or LVN License.
  • Valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
  • Additional certifications as mandated by state regulations, including CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, individuals served, and their families.
