We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced vocational nursing care to individuals residing at the State Supported Living Center, including administering medications, performing health screenings, and collecting specimens for laboratory examination.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education and training to direct support professionals on how to provide safe and effective care.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of care and safety for individuals and staff.
- Respond to emergency situations, and provide leadership and guidance to other nursing staff as needed.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet the needs of individuals and the team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to the care and treatment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
