Orthopedic Imaging Specialist

The **Orthopedic Imaging Specialist** role offers exceptional patient care under the guidance of medical professionals. The specialist is tasked with ensuring that patients are adequately prepared for their consultations and that all necessary documentation is accurately completed.

Essential Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
  • Bachelor's degree is advantageous but not essential
  • Completion of an accredited training program for Radiologic Technologists
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Required licensure and/or certification as mandated by the State of North Carolina
  • Proficient understanding of anatomy and physiology necessary for executing procedures, including patient movement and body mechanics
  • Awareness of safety risks and contraindications for patients and visitors within the facility
  • Current CPR Certification is necessary
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Exceptional documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patient medical histories, including reasons for visits and other relevant treatment information prior to physician evaluations
  • Execute all diagnostic x-ray procedures as prescribed by the physician and advanced practice providers
  • Prepare medical records, including x-ray images, for physician assessment before examinations
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures diligently
  • Provide patient education when suitable, encompassing both oral and written information related to diagnoses, procedures, and medications
  • Restock supplies and clean examination rooms after each patient visit, following infection control protocols, and ensure rooms are stocked at the end of each day
  • Communicate any supply shortages or clinical needs to the Clinical Manager or designated personnel
  • Ensure that laboratory and diagnostic test results are obtained and conveyed to the physician to facilitate timely medical intervention. All pending results should be secured before the patient's subsequent clinic visit
  • Confirm that all documentation and charges related to studies accurately represent the patient encounter and care plan
