Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the exceptional patient care experience at Health Images. This role is dedicated to meeting all patient needs, assisting technologists with smooth patient transitions, and engaging with patients on exam expectations and wait times. The Medical Assistant will facilitate proper dissemination of patient paperwork and patient communication in collaboration with the technologist. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist patients with incomplete clinical pre-screening forms or consents, conduct clinical history interviews, and perform clinical screening for Mammography and Bone Density exam patients for technologist review.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs detailed clinical screening of Mammography and Bone Density patients for technologist review, informing technologists of any contraindicated responses that could interfere with patient safety.
2. Assists patients with securing valuables and changing into proper attire for the examination.
3. Prepares room and non-sterile trays as needed to assist Radiologists.
4. Supports technologists in preparing patients for the exam, helping patients on and off the imaging table, and escorting them back to the lobby or suitable waiting area.
5. Assists with the Priors Management Grid, receiving and validating prior outside studies.
6. Ensures safety procedures are followed at all times in all security zones of the Center.
7. Prepares images and paperwork to be sent for interpretation, sending images through the PACS system to the appropriate location as needed.
8. Contacts referring provider offices to obtain updated orders and clarify orders when needed.
9. Collaborates with the Patient Scheduling Coordinator when there is a change in exam/prep for the scheduled patient.

Requirements:

1. One plus year of administrative experience in a healthcare environment - radiology preferred.
2. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver, and a team player.
3. Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
4. Ability to excel in a very fast-paced team environment.
5. Ability to continuously 'exceed' company and customer expectations.
6. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.

Education/Certifications:

1. Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED) - continuing education preferred.
2. Active CPR certification.
3. Medical Assistant certification/registration required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

None required for this position.
