Job Overview

Ariccia Cucina Italiana is a modern escape located inside of The Hotel at Auburn University. We focus on the best Italian food, wine, and community in Auburn, Alabama.

We honor the classic central Italian cuisine, focusing on the freshest seasonal products, Italian meats & cheeses, signature Porchetta, house-made focaccia, and Auburn's best wood-fired pizzas. Our goal is to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy delicious food and great company.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide a warm welcome and farewell to guests dining in Ariccia, Piccolo, or Thrive.
  2. Greet all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develop a rapport with customers by learning their names and preferences.
  3. Utilize OpenTable to manage guest reservations and seatings to optimize overall flow for both FOH and BOH teams.
  4. Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
  5. Escort guests to their tables and deliver clean and accurate menus to each seat; assist guests with chairs following Forbe's standards.
  6. Ensure that all special occasions are being recorded and communicated to both FOH and BOH staff.
  7. Communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions, and provide accurate information.
  8. Answer the telephone in a courteous and friendly manner; assist with guest requests/questions or direct them to the appropriate channel.
  9. Collect orders for to-go and in-room dining, and input into the POS.
  10. Assist with Thrive Café operations as needed.
  11. Assist with running food from the expo window to guests' tables without announcing food following proper procedures.
  12. Monitor and observe guest's experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the beverages and service. Anticipate and respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  13. Communicate effectively with front of house and back of house team members to ensure a highly executed dining experience.
  14. Have a comprehensive knowledge and ability to answer questions about our food, beverage, and overall restaurant and hotel offerings.
  15. Perform mise en place, opening, and closing side work for daily service based on business levels expected.
  16. Always maintain a neat and clean work environment; ensure overall restaurant ambience is maintained throughout each shift.
  17. Oversee our guests' experience following Ariccia's and IHP's standards of service.
Working Conditions

Be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.

Considerable repetitive motion of hands, wrists, shoulders, and back is required.

Workplace is a fast-paced environment with considerable movement throughout the shift; requires standing and walking 95% of the workday.

Team members must have a flexible work schedule and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
