Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise environmental services staff to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.
  • Provide leadership, support, coordination, and guidance to ensure quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met.
  • Coordinate and ensure the satisfactory and timely completion of project and program work done in the building on varying shifts.
  • Maintain records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
  • Secure and assure that all equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Maintain sufficient janitorial supplies and take periodic inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Train new employees and recommend dismissals as necessary.
  • Act as liaison between building occupants or administrators and HCSG staff.
  • Communicate effectively with HCSG staff, building occupants, and administrators.
  • Perform the job assignments of the day porter, custodian, and floor technician as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality control and in-servicing of staff, including touring the building to assess work quality.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in environmental services in a school or healthcare environment and personnel supervision is desired.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Ability to fully understand and complete all In-Services.
  • Ability to be at work on time.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and implement basic infection control procedures.
  • Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of environmental services, laundry, and floor care program requirements.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.
  • Written and oral communication and teaching skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, and other personnel and the public.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
  • Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must live in the service area. No relocation costs.
