By joining the Bellevue Montessori School's Activity Club Program, the Assistant will support educators in achieving these objectives and collaborate with staff to create a nurturing environment. The Assistant plays a vital role in the holistic development of all students by engaging positively, confidently, and respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.

Position: Activity Club Assistant (Part-Time)

Campus: MAIN

Program: Early Childhood (ages 3 to 6)

Reports To: Assistant Director

Daily Schedule: Monday to Friday - 2PM to 6PM

Available Positions: 3

Compensation: $20.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of activities, books, and art supplies
  • Assist with student drop-offs
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols
  • Prepare and serve snacks for children
  • Provide assistance to children as needed, following the Montessori approach
  • Engage in meaningful conversations with children to enhance their language skills
  • Utilize positive discipline strategies to help students develop self-discipline and conflict resolution skills
  • Ensure the classroom is tidy and ready for the next day, including sanitizing tables and chairs
  • Manage dishwasher and laundry duties, ensuring all closing tasks are completed
  • Comply with BMS policies and procedures, including staying updated with DCYF requirements and ongoing education
  • Support in various areas such as covering breaks, assisting at the front desk, and helping in other classrooms as needed
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or at least 18 years of age
  • Relevant experience working with children, such as babysitting or nannying
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and other digital platforms
