Radiologic Technologist

DMC Receiving Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
- Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
- Provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
- Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing radiographs.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel.
- Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment.
