Collaboration with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering/Convention Services is essential to meet revenue targets, enhance meeting planner satisfaction, and fulfill food and beverage requirements across multiple properties.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in convention/event management and catering sales is preferred.
  • Creativity and a solid understanding of food and beverage/event management are highly desirable.
  • A valid driver's license for the relevant state is mandatory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective negotiation and influence with managerial staff, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
  • Experience in professional selling techniques is preferred, including skills in opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Proficiency in general computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks is crucial; strong organizational and presentation skills are necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve designated meeting planner satisfaction scores, revenue targets, and food and beverage objectives.
  • Proactively engage in solicitation calls, conduct property tours, and entertain clients based on their specific needs.
  • Analyze and monitor trends within the market segment.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to established regulations, company standards, and catering/meeting metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and policies across relevant departments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of banquet event orders (within 10 days) and maintain accuracy.
  • Communicate changes promptly to all affected departments and operations leaders.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations as applicable.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as required by management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales.
