We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Sigma Healthcare in Springfield, MA.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for producing high-quality x-ray images by performing x-ray procedures using radiology equipment and processing film. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Administer radio pharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images, following strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Position patients and equipment, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, monitoring video displays to adjust density or contrast.
  • Monitor patients during examinations, ensuring their safety and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Produce diagnostic images, report important information to physicians, and update patient records.
  • Organize daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitor radiographic supplies.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
Requirements
  • MA RT (X-Ray) license
  • ARRT Card and BLS (AHA ONLY)
  • 2-year experience required
  • Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education Accreditation Accredited Radiology program or equivalent
